A few notes on my life...
1. My mood is a little better, but my physical health hasn't really improved all that much. I couldn't keep up with the bowling and the square dancing, so I've dropped the square dancing for this year. I DID have a good time, and I hope I'm better by next fall so I can join and complete the 9-month class.

2. I really don't want to get into details about my health. Suffice it to say, I can't sit in one place for very long. Last weekend, I rode the train for the better part of two hours -- and I learned that I can't ride the train for the better part of two hours.

3. I have had a break-through in my bowling. For years, I couldn't figure out why I randomly threw a right gutter ball. It was like turrets, or a tic or something! My right foot is turned outward about 30 degrees -- which I noticed about 10 years ago when walking on a treadmill in front of a mirror. Well, sometimes when I get up on the deck to bowl, my feet are pointing in the wrong direction! I think they're pointed down the lane, when they're actually pointing toward the right. I've fixed that, now. For the past two weeks, I've really bowled well. My game has gone from the 150s to the 170s.

4. Katie Couric on the CBS Evening Snooze ... either she was going to make it a lot brighter, or it was going to make her boring. It won. She's boring.

5. I've been spending way too much time on http://www.PhishTank.com -- go ahead, take 30 minutes and check it out. You'll never click a bogus link again!

Yay! Me!
logoAs usual, I was worrying about nothing.  Square Dancing was a blast!  it's going to be the perfect physical activity to add to my week.  The newbies join "classes" that run for 12 weeks and cost $50 (or $60 if you do not pay up front).  The fall class starts Wednesday night.  After the spring class is done, then you've learned enough to dance the steps and keep up with most square dancers.  (Of course, there are advanced levels and competitions and such that require more training -- hardcore square dancing!)  There is still time for others to join.

I'm very glad that I went!

I upgraded my computer to Ubuntu Edgy Eft Beta.  I started on Friday.  I'm regretting it, somewhat.  It did not go smoothly, mainly because I tinker with my Linux installation all the time.  The upgrade broke mid-stream and I've been finishing it here and there.  Everything works.  I am very impressed with what the Ubuntu and Debian teams have done here.  I am going to have to run Microsoft Windows Vista, because inevitably, I'll have to support it.  But for someone who doesn't want to shell out $250 for Vista's Professional, Ubuntu is a great alternative and I plan to run it on several systems here at home.

Plan today:

1.  Bowling (more bowlers are needed!)
2.  Pick up my Rx at the drugstore

The plan for today was to go help move Esthers' Pantry, but I woke up late.  Last night, I was pretty tired from bowling, but wound up enough to make sleep difficult.  I never RSVP'd to help in the move -- I was just going to show up and help.  Hopefully, they got enough support.

The other plan for today was (or is) to go to Square Dancing, but I'm thinking about chickening out.  I planned to go stag, but that makes me nervous.  So today I've asked a couple of friends, but they're all unavailable.  I really need to go.  Not only do I need more social outlets, I need another physical activity in my life.  I'll go.  I WILL GO!  4pm, I'll be dressed and out the door.

Sheesh.

I bowled 140s/140s/190s last night.  My average is 153.  We won the first and third game, and probably also won total points.  That should put us in one of the first 3-4 spots in the league!

Recap Plan for Friday:  I got everything done!

I Finally Have Two Balls!
It's taken a while.  I wasn't sure it was worth the expense.  But I did it.  I now have a second ball!
